Lego Fruit Snacks!

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Last night we went to Wegmans to shop for food for the week, and a display caught my attention back by the milk: fruit snacks shaped like Legos!!! How cool is that? Of course I had to get a box and see if they were as cool in person as they were on the box.

I was a little annoyed by the fact that they didn't have dimples in the bottom to actually connect them together, but since they didn't last very long outside of my mouth, that wasn't a big deal. It would also be cool to have different shapes, not just the 2x2s but maybe the 2x4s or something.

I don't often play with my food, but there's always an exception to the rule!

We need a Wegman's down here. My sister and I had to go to VA last week and of course we went into Martin's, which is another cool supermarket. I was in the wine aisle at one point (I seem to gravitate there) and spotted a label on a wine bottle called "Fat Bastard". Never heard of that one before, and I didn't buy it either.
Well now you can eat your Lego's. They probably stick together anyway.

We have a Martin's (just renamed to Tops) in town also, right across the street from another Wegmans.

"Fat Bastard" sounds familiar (for wine), I think I might have seen that around here. Was it cheap? We tend to shop in the "as cheap as possible" section of the liquor store.

Oh. Don't go for the 2 buck chuck stuff. I had some at a neighbor's house, and boy it didn't like me. My normal stuff is Beringer White Zin. I get the bigger bottle here at liquor factory on sale for $8.99. Otherwise, I like sweet wines. I didn't look at the price on the Fat Bastard. I'm actually looking for a wine made by Mogen David, which is up there in NY. It is a kosher wine, like concord grape. My friends in VA can't buy it down there, so I'm on a hunt for them. I'll be visiting them in August again and hope to find them a case up here to bring down.

I finally found these at BJ's. I thought that was kind of funny.

I made a silicone Lego candy mold, and made Lego Gummies (WITH holes in the bottom so you can stack them)

I posted a free Instructable on to show you how to do it.
I called them "LeGummies"
