Toilet Behavior Vindication

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Growing up I was taught to put the lid down on the toilet. We had cats and if the lid was left up they would play in the toilets. So since putting the lid down is embedded in my soul I keep trying to get Rachelle to do it too. She continues to resist, but today knocked a tissue box into the toilet!

JR tries to get me to put the lid down too but I'm not interested in playing that game. It can add several seconds to your time in an emergency situation.

Besides the 0.5 secs you gain in an emergency...are there any other reasons to not put the lid down?

Reasons to not put the lid down:
- In case the kitty is thirsty and she doesn't want to walk downstairs to the water bowl.
- So I can pee in the dark without having to look.
- I paid $100+ for that toilet. Let people look at it.

- You like kissing your cat when its face was in your toilet?
- If you start always putting the seat down you'll know you have to lift it when you whiz in the dark.
- And I'm not even going to get into the money reason...

Im ambivelant to the toliet seat issue however May i suggest putting the lid down for fear some of rachelle's make up, hair products and other various accessories housed on the above toliet shelf could be in grave danger by default or sheer spite!

yeah...especially since you have to reach through all that crap to turn the light on.
